For me, having success is getting to have fun. But not just getting to have fun. Yes, life is meant to be enjoyed but I believe that your hobbies and your interests are not to get confused with your purpose in life.
A good example of this, is labeling yourself as only being in one category. "I'm the makeup girl." "I'm the video gamer" etc. Labeling yourself detaches you from everything else that makes you unique.
Why is this important?
Because I strongly believe that in order to be successful you have to be happy, and in order to be happy, you need to have balance. For example, creating content related to makeup and beauty may make you happy but it might not fulfill you if that's all you do. And it doesn't matter how much money you make, you will still not be fully happy until you connect and bring together your passion with your purpose.
I truly believe that people like to have a good time, but they love to have a great time by doing so and contributing their part to the world.
These are my personal beliefs on success and the standards that I hold to myself. It is not up to me to judge people on how successful they are based on my standards. Success means different things to different people. To some it may mean money, a house, material things etc. but to me that is just a result of success. If those things mean success to someone, they are not right nor wrong for feeling that way. I love nice things, and I want nice things; but those things are not what I aspire after. I feel as though nice, material things would come to me as a result of me living my best life by putting forward and combining each and everyday, my purpose with my passion. This is about self-fulfillment, gratitude, and balance. And to that last question; 'who defines the meaning of success?' ultimately it's you. Everyone says they want to be successful, but few will dissect what that really means. Anyway, I hope my blog post gave you some insight and contributed to your perspective. See you at my next one! x
